The book actually made me cry and Lucy, the special heroine with the least amount of powers, is someone for both boys and girls to look up to, just as this novel is one I see both genders completely enjoying. What really got me was the theme of family, and how much these four people belonged together despite the unconventional way they merged.Īt first glance, some of the names might seem formidable to the middle school set however, the adventure and delight further in, more than makes up for it. The supernatural elements were not what kept me deeply in this story, despite the hook at the beginning. Once I realized that it was for nefarious intentions, I became less enthralled.
